Below is one of the books I’ve read over the years which I’d like to share with my website’s visitors.

I read the book The Great Influenza: The Story of the Deadliest Pandemic in History by John M. Barry in 2005, after reading a review in Newsweek and well before the COVID-19 Pandemic. Rest assured this definitive book on the biggest public health crisis of the 20th Century is timeless and resonates more than ever.

Barry mentions (almost in passing) a much-overlooked fact very pertinent in an age when many of America’s leaders and potential leaders are in the most at-risk age categories for COVID: US President Woodrow Wilson’s own doctor diagnosed him as having contracted the flu in Paris, and this could have possibly led to the debilitation which derailed his Presidency and the League of Nations and changed word history for the worse.
