Below is one of the movies I’ve watched over the years that I’d like to share with my website’s visitors (along with Books, Songs and TV Shows) which you can buy or rent on Amazon by clicking on the image below.

The movie Joker, written by Todd Phillips and Scott Silver, directed by Todd Phillips, produced by Todd Phillips, Bradley Cooper and Emma Tillinger Koskoff and starring actors Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Bill Camp, Shea Whigham and Marc Maron, is a complex tale of the Batman character’s descent into insanity, raising many questions of where mental illness ends and evil begins (indeed, if the two can’t overlap) and how deeply criminal insanity and motivations for murder should be explored on screen.

Joker was the first R-rated film to ever gross over $1 billion and was nominated for 11 Oscars, winning Best Actor for Phoenix and one other Oscar. The film continues to generate controversy (or at least conversations; more than 40,000 reviews of the film can be found on the film’s Amazon listing) and is full of more than one ironic twist: among other things, the character played by DeNiro, the Taxi Driver, provides something of a moral compass towards the end of the film.
