Below is one of the movies I’ve watched over the years that I’d like to share with my website’s visitors (along with Books, Songs and TV Shows) which you can buy or rent on Amazon by clicking on the image below.

The movie Taxi Driver, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert DeNiro, Cybill Shepherd, Jodie Foster and Harvey Keitel, was nominated for four Oscars, but, interestingly, won none of them. Much of the controversy surrounding the film involved 13-year-old Jodie Foster’s portrayal of a teenage prostitute, and the film is overall dark and gritty (it was almost rated X due its level of violence in the climactic scene).

The controversy over Taxi Driver was renewed a few years after its release, when it came to light that John Hinckley Jr., obsessed with the movie as a whole and with Foster in particular, had been inspired by the film to shoot Ronald Reagan (the film was even played for the jury in closing arguments, and Hinckley was found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity).
