Preply English Tutoring

A service provided by Bill Hammons

Welcome to this landing page I’ve set up for my English students!

***If you haven’t done so already, please fill out this online questionnaire to help me get more targeted feedback.***

(Note that, once you’ve completed the survey, you’ll be taken to a “thank you” page that links back to this page.)

Please leave me a review on Preply (110 reviews and counting)!

If you’re one of my students on Preply, and you have yet to leave me a review, please leave one now (writing a review in your native language in addition to English is fine). This is very much appreciated, and detailed, informative reviews help me stay in the tutoring business!

Current Events

Many of my students are interested in following current events (a.k.a. the news) in the States more closely. Here a few gems that I’ll share with you (high-quality, non-partisan websites that draw news from both the left and right):

  1. drudgereport.com (Don’t be fooled by the overly simplistic format and Drudge’s past reputation; this site curates well)

  2. smerconish.com (Smerconish also has a great newsletter; look for the prominent sign-up button)

The United States

Many of my students are also interested in learning more about the United States generally, perhaps with an eye on living, studying and/or working in the US. Here’s a great TV series that captures the history of the US (and thus the US) in a nutshell:
